A Life Centered on Jesus

Paul's letter to the Colossians keeps bringing us back to one foundational truth:

Jesus is enough

Following Jesus isn't about finding something new to add to Him. It's about learning to center more and more of our life on Him.

And when Jesus is at the center, it changes how we live with the people around us—and how we see the people God has placed in our everyday world.

A life centered on Jesus is a life sent by Jesus

Believe

Read Colossians 4:2–6 again. Do you see the progression in the Apostle Paul’s instruction?

Pray — stay devoted, watchful, and thankful.
Look — be wise toward those outside the faith and recognize opportunities.
Speak — let your conversations be full of grace.

It doesn’t require a special position or a significant title. “Living sent” happens in the ordinary places of life, with you and I. At home. At work. At school. In the neighborhood. At the store. Over coffee.

Sometimes the open door we've been praying for is discovered in ordinary conversation.

Pray

Think about the people God has already placed around you:

Family — Who needs to experience the character of Jesus through you?
Friends — Who needs encouragement, prayer, or someone who will really listen?
Coworkers / Classmates — Who might see Jesus through the way you work or support them?
Neighbors — Who could you intentionally notice rather than simply driving or walking by?
Strangers — Who might God place in your path unexpectedly?

Now pray:

“Jesus, who have You placed in my life today, and how can I reflect You to them?”

Ask Him to give you eyes and a heart to notice the opportunities you might otherwise miss.

Do

Choose one person

Pray for them by name. Then pay attention. Listen. Encourage. Serve. Speak with grace.

And if Jesus opens the door, be ready to share why the hope you have is found in Him.

You don't have to manufacture the opportunity.

Pray. Notice. Respond.

Am I paying enough attention to recognize the people and opportunities Jesus is placing around me?

LIVE like Jesus where He has placed you.

SHARE Jesus with the people He has placed around you. Remember, don’t get so busy that you miss the opportunity to fulfill the mission you have been sent to complete today.

Because:

A life centered on Jesus is a life sent by Jesus.
