Today’s Thought
Paul tells us to walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us. Jesus is not simply an example of being pleasant or agreeable. His love was willing to sacrifice. That does not mean every request deserves a yes or that wise boundaries are unloving. It means love considers another person’s good instead of insisting on getting its own way. Sometimes that happens through: an apology, a willingness to listen, or a choice to serve without expecting recognition. Walking in love is not one impressive moment. It is a direction we choose again and again because Jesus first loved us. I will say it again: Because Jesus first loved us.
Pray
Jesus, thank You for loving me sacrificially. Teach me to walk in that love (your love) with humility, wisdom, and a willing heart. In Your Name, AMEN.
Today’s Mercy Step
In one ordinary interaction today, set aside a preference or inconvenience to show thoughtful, Christlike love to the other person.
Following Jesus by loving the people right in front of us…or next door,
