The Belt of Truth
Ephesians 6:14
Opening Thought
Sunday we were reminded that following Jesus isn't simply about believing differently. Following Jesus changes the way we live. Jesus isn't simply part of our lives. He is our life.
Today’s Scripture
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…”
Ephesians 6:14a
“I am the way and the truth and the life.”
John 14:6
BELIEVE – Truth doesn’t change because I do
If Jesus really is THE Truth, then He gets the final word. I don’t get to reshape His truth to fit my life. I allow His truth to reshape me. So maybe the most important question from Sunday wasn’t:
“Do I believe in Jesus?”
It was, more importantly:
“Do I believe Jesus?”
Because when Jesus and I disagree, I’m the one who needs to move.
PRAY
Jesus, show me where my life is not aligned with Your truth. Help me listen to You even when what You say challenges what I think, feel, or want. Give me the courage to trust You enough to change and follow You there. Amen
DO - Practice Looking Like Jesus
Take a few quiet minutes today and ask:
What is one area of my life that needs to come into alignment with what Jesus says is true?
Don’t begin with someone else’s life. Begin with yours.
Then take one step of obedience this week.
Because truth isn’t merely something we know. Truth must change how we live.
Remember
For this series, we will begin a weekly “Remember” section. This will be an opportunity to use God’s Word to encourage you, as you refer to it, during the day.
THIS WEEK’S VERSE:
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
John 14:6
Read it. Say it. Memorize it. Let God’s Word become part of the way you think and live.
Don’t forget to put your belt on this week…the belt of truth.
Following Jesus together... and being a good neighbor,
